Hello!

Well, I finally took the plunge and made a website. I’m in the final throes of editing my first book, Venturing North and things are getting R E A L.

I never thought I would be an author, in fact I was always embarrassed about my writing. It was really common during my education for teachers and lecturers to ask why my written work was so much worse than my classwork (yes, they really did say that to my face…) and I found out why recently - ADHD!

Turns out I had un-diagnosed ADHD and once I found this out it unlocked something within in me, that and getting massively into reading during the various lockdowns we had here in Glasgow.

I’ve found writing to be stimulating and different enough that I’ve managed to keep going now for nearly 4 months - this is a huge achievement for me as I normally get bored with projects and leave them to gather dust.

Anyway, I’m going to use this space to jot down my thoughts, tips and neurodivergent tangents while I wrap up this first draft.

Do drop me a line if you have any questions about the process and how ADHD can be a tool and nuisance when writing.
